This Is
(Not)A Pride Flag
A Better Utah starts with you: and sometimes, it starts with a flag that is definitely (not) a Pride flag.

When They Ban Pride... We Get Creative
Utah lawmakers outdid themselves this year by becoming the first US state to ban pride flags from schools and government buildings with H.B.77.

But plot twist! On May 6, Salt Lake City's Mayor, Erin Mendenhall, and the City Council surprised the nation, showing their city’s community they wouldn’t roll over. They adopted three "new municipal flags" by ordinance that— coincidentally—look exactly like pride flags with a sego lily slapped in the corner. These officially sanctioned symbols of municipal pride are now 100% government-property-legal.
Sometimes the best response to petty legislation is even pettier compliance.
Pride began as a protest. We're keeping that tradition alive.
These Are Not Pride Flags
These flags have historically been symbols of visibility, belonging, and celebration.
The Utah Legislature turned them into contraband.
Mayor Mendenhall & the Salt Lake City Council turned them into a protest.
We're turning them into a movement, and a fundraiser for our community.
